The familiar bottle, with a different clue
The rounded shoulders and raised lettering are recognisably Bulleit. Here, though, a cream-and-black label carries orange words that change the conversation: Mesquite Smoked Malt. The same expression name appears around the neck, above a broad expanse of amber whiskey.

Read the full expression name
The front of this bottle identifies it as Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, marked Limited Release, with 46.5% alcohol by volume and a 750 ml bottle size. These details were checked against the original supplied photograph. The label also identifies malted barley smoked over mesquite wood as part of the recipe.
The words “smoked malt” deserve attention, but they do not change the expression printed below them: this bottle is bourbon. It is easy to recognise the embossed brand name and overlook the smaller line that tells you which release you are actually holding.
Where the smoke comes from
On its official Mesquite Smoked Malt page, Bulleit describes a mashbill of 65% corn, 30% mesquite-smoked malt and 5% standard malt, aged for six years. The brand presents it as its first straight bourbon made without rye.
That same explanation places the smoke in the malted barley, which is smoked over mesquite wood. Bulleit explicitly describes the release as a whiskey without added flavouring. Those are production details from the brand; they are not evidence of a new Superior Whiskey tasting.
Turn the bottle around
From behind, the embossed front lettering appears in reverse through the liquid. The paper label wraps low around the bottle, leaving the shoulders and most of the glass exposed. It is a very different view of the same package, and a useful reminder that the back deserves more than a glance.
Bulleit belongs to Diageo, whose brand profile describes the distillery and visitor centre in Shelbyville, Kentucky. We do not yet have a Bulleit distillery page in our directory, so those official sources are the best next stop for brand background. This feature does not identify a particular distillation site for the photographed batch.
