ON THE SUPERIOR SHELF
On the Superior Shelf: Old Forester 1910 Old Fine Whisky
Old Forester 1910 Old Fine Whisky explained: 93-proof Kentucky straight bourbon, a second heavily charred barrel and the details on a 750 ml shelf label.

Two barrels behind the blue seal
Old Forester 1910 Old Fine Whisky pairs a blue neck seal with a cream label and a prominent 93 proof badge. The front identifies it as Kentucky straight bourbon whisky, while the rear places it in the Whiskey Row Series.
The defining detail is its second barrel. Old Forester’s 2018 launch announcement describes mature whisky going into a lightly toasted, heavily charred barrel for an additional maturation stage. The front label also describes the expression as double barreled.

Why is it called 1910?
Old Forester’s official product page dates the inspiration to October 22, 1910. In the producer’s account, a fire stopped the bottling line, so whisky that was ready for bottling went into another barrel while production was interrupted. The modern expression recalls that second-barrel approach.
1910 is a historical reference. It does not mean the bottle contains whisky distilled in 1910, nor does it state how many years this whisky spent aging. The modern expression’s launch announcement is dated October 2018.

93 proof in the bottle, 100 proof into the second barrel
The producer’s description gives a 100-proof entry strength for the second barrel. The photographed bottle states 93 proof. These refer to different stages of production: barrel entry and finished bottling.
The 93-proof badge is not a tasting score. This Shelf Journal entry has no rating, and the supplied label does not claim cask strength. Our strength guide explains why a proof number alone does not establish how a whiskey was bottled.
The photographed shelf price: $59.99
The electronic tag names Old Forester 1910 Bourbon, lists 750 ml and displays $59.99. It also shows a unit price of $2.37 per ounce. No sale banner, crossed-out comparison price, loyalty-card condition or digital coupon is visible.

Treat $59.99 as the documented shelf observation. Confirm the current price and stock with the retailer before buying; the supplied image does not establish an online or nationwide offer.
