THE FINE PRINT · PRIVACY AND DATA

What this site collects.

Almost nothing — and we would rather say so in plain words than in three pages of boilerplate.

Superior Whiskey is a static website. There are no accounts, no newsletter, no comment box and no advertising network. We do not run analytics of any kind, and we set no cookies of our own. This page explains the few places your visit does leave a trace, because some of them are not ours to control.

What we do not do

We do not track you. There is no Google Analytics, no tag manager, no pixel, no heatmap and no advertising script anywhere on this site. We do not set cookies, and we do not store anything in your browser.

We have no accounts, so we hold no usernames, passwords or profiles. We do not run a mailing list, and we do not sell, rent or share information about visitors — we have none to share.

Search

The search on this site runs entirely inside your browser using a pre-built index that is downloaded with the page. What you type into the search box is never sent to us and never leaves your device.

Hosting

The site is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare's servers record standard request information — IP address, browser user agent, the page requested and the time — and use it to serve the site and protect it from abuse. That logging is Cloudflare's, governed by Cloudflare's privacy policy. We do not build profiles from it and we do not combine it with anything else.

Fonts

Our typefaces are served by Google Fonts. That means your browser requests font files from fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com, and Google receives your IP address as part of that request. It is the one third party a normal page view touches, and it is covered by Google's privacy policy.

Retailer links

Some bottle pages link to retailers, and some of those are affiliate links marked rel="sponsored". If you follow one, you leave this site and the retailer's own privacy policy and cookies apply from that point. We receive no personal information about what you do there — at most an aggregate report that a purchase happened.

Commissions never influence a score. Every bottle is tasted and argued over before anyone looks at whether it can be bought through a link.

Social accounts

We publish links to our own pages on Facebook, Instagram, Threads and X. Anything you do on those platforms is governed by their policies, not ours, and we do not collect or store information about the people who see or interact with those posts. Our Facebook posts are published automatically from the pages on this site; they contain a short quotation from the page and a link, and nothing else.

Email

If you write to us — for example at [email protected] — we keep your message so we can reply to it. We use it for that and nothing else.

Deleting your data

Because the site stores nothing about visitors, in almost every case there is nothing to delete. If you have emailed us and would like that correspondence removed, write to [email protected] with the request and we will delete it and confirm. The same address works for asking what we hold.

Age

This site is about alcohol and is intended for people who are of legal drinking age where they live — 21 or over in the United States. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone.

Changes

If any of the above stops being true — if we ever add analytics, a newsletter or a form that stores what you type — this page changes first, and the date below changes with it.
